HUD’s Office of Special Needs Assistance Programs (SNAPS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Division, and the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 2:30–4:00 PM EDT.
This webinar will discuss strategies for re-housing individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in non-congregate shelter (NCS) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic into safe, stable permanent housing. Participants will hear from the State of Connecticut and Indianapolis, IN about their respective efforts for re-housing individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in NCS into permanent housing. There will also be an opportunity for participants to ask questions.
Training Objectives
Participants will learn:
• What COVID-specific NCS is and how to request FEMA reimbursement for NCS costs
• Why it is so important to have a strategy to re-house individuals and families experiencing homelessness sheltering in NCS in safe, stable permanent housing
• Strategies and resources that can be used to re-house individuals sheltering in NCS, including financial and community partners to help implement these strategies
