Coverage Rate

Coverage rate refers to the percentage of the homeless population in a geographic area that is measured on the HMIS, divided by the total number of homeless persons in that geographic area. Coverage estimates are used to project a total homeless count if there are homeless service providers in a jurisdiction that do not participate in the OC HMIS. (These may include persons served in Domestic Violence Providers or other non-participating Shelters or Outreach Projects.)
